Orca is a female puppy, likely a mix of Great Pyrenees, and is currently located in Santa Cruz, CA. While she has a small size for now, expect her to grow into a large dog. As a baby, she is still in need of training and socialization. Orca has not yet been altered and is ready for a loving home after her spay surgery.

About Orca

Meet Orca! This sweet puppy is part of a litter of Great Pyrenees mix pups that were found as strays, left in a box on the side of the road in Watsonville. Thankfully, a good Samaritan rescued them and brought them to the shelter. Orca is a bit shy but is warming up to the caring staff and volunteers who are giving her loads of attention. Expect Orca to grow into a large dog, as we anticipate based on her breed mix. Adopters with other pets should be ready for a slow introduction; it's important for resident pets to meet Orca at the shelter beforehand. If you're considering adding a puppy to your home, be prepared for typical puppy challenges like potty training and socialization. Orca is available for pre-adoption and can go home with you after her spay surgery. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter now offers “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher connects new dog owners with local positive reinforcement trainers to help start the relationship off right. Come meet Orca and see if she's the perfect fit for your family!
