About Scout

Scout is a handsome gentleman, around 5 months old and currently weighing about 40 lbs. He and his mother, along with his sister, were rescued from Wabaunsee County and are likely a mix of Shepherd with hints of Border Collie or Red Heeler. Having just settled into his foster home, Scout is showing his affectionate side, although he can be a bit timid when meeting new people. Right now, all he truly wants is to cuddle up close. He’s been slow to warm up to the resident dogs, so introductions are being handled gently and carefully with a crate-and-rotate method. Scout is currently learning crate and potty training, and he’s been doing well with no indoor accidents thus far. In the beginning, he had some hesitance about the crate, but he calms down and rests after a short while. His energy level is low at the moment, likely due to his past experiences, and he hasn’t shown much interest in toys yet, but he does love food and gets excited for meal times! At this stage, he hasn’t been tested with kids, small dogs, or cats. Ready to make a loving home for Scout? Apply to adopt today!
