About Arya
Meet Arya! Arya's journey has been a heartfelt one. Adopted as a tiny puppy in 2022 at just 9 weeks old, her life has taken a turn, and now, at 4 years old, she’s looking for a new forever home. Currently, she’s in a foster setting with a caring family member, which has made her transition smoother. Arya is a 44 lb. Australian Cattle Dog Mix, who shines in the company of other dogs, especially a shy resident dog she’s been helping to come out of her shell. Having lived in a bustling household with young children, she may not have received the confidence-building she needed as a puppy. Though loved, Arya can feel uneasy in new situations and is cautious around strangers. Once trust is established, she forms deep bonds, seeking reassurance from her person and sticking closely by their side. While she has experience with children, her sensitive nature indicates she’d thrive best in a calm adult home where stability prevails. We are reinforcing her training through positive methods to help her ease into new introductions. Women tend to gain her trust more quickly, while men might require a little more time. Arya isn’t a "love at first sight" dog; she will need patience and understanding to settle in. However, once comfortable, she happily accepts pets, enjoys treats, and loves to show off her tricks. As a mix from working breeds, Arya is intelligent and alert but also cautious until she feels secure. The right adopter would be someone patient and committed, aware of the compassion Arya needs during her settling-in period. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
