About Chico
Meet Chico. This 4-year-old, 15-pound sweetheart is on the lookout for a patient and loving forever home. Currently in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Chico can be adopted anywhere, as he’s fully vetted and ready to start his next chapter. Having come from a hoarding situation, he initially finds the world a bit overwhelming. Chico is naturally shy and may take a few days to settle in with new people and pets. He prefers the comfort of a crate or a quiet corner where he can take in his surroundings at his own pace. Once he feels secure, Chico's personality shines through. He becomes friendly, curious, and surprisingly outgoing. You'll often see him happily exploring and checking in with his favorite people. Chico is crate trained, potty pad trained, and very quiet. While he hasn’t shown much interest in toys yet, he enjoys watching other dogs play and might discover his playful side once he finds the stability of a loving home. He’s not seeking perfection—just someone willing to offer time, patience, and understanding. In return, Chico will show you just how rewarding it can be to help a shy dog blossom into a confident companion. Could Chico be the missing piece in your family?
