About Scout
Scout is a blue merle Miniature American Shepherd born around May 21, 2025. This gentle and affectionate one-year-old boy weighs 27 lbs and has medium-length fur that adds to his charm. Although he has faced challenges in the past, he's working hard to overcome his shyness and rediscover the joys of companionship and family life. Scout thrives in a calm environment where drama is minimal, making him well-suited for someone who prefers quiet evenings at home. He's a little more submissive than other dogs and requires patience to help him continue to blossom. Scout is eager to learn and picks up commands quickly, especially if treats are involved. His love for toys has grown; when left alone, you'll often find him playing quietly out of sight. Scout gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes, but he needs the friendship of another energetic dog to help guide him. He’s not a fan of young children and would do best in a home without kids under eight. With his marbled blue eyes, Scout is not only a handsome young fella but also a perfect companion for someone who enjoys sharing daily activities like slow walks, cuddling, and playtime. He is house trained, neutered, and current on vaccinations, ready for a loving home. If you're seeking a furry friend who will quietly listen and be by your side, Scout could be the one for you. Scout will not be adopted out of the state of New Mexico. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
