Meet Nutmeg! Nutmeg is an eleven-year-old Jack Russell Terrier and American Pitbull Terrier mix currently living in Amherst, MA. This charming girl, dressed in a white coat with fawn patches, weighs about 30 pounds and combines the curiosity of a terrier with the loyalty of a devoted companion. Whether she's cuddling beside you or exploring the great outdoors, Nutmeg thrives on connection and adventure. Highly intelligent and treat-motivated, Nutmeg loves to learn. She has mastered commands like sit, stay, and down, and she takes pride in showcasing her skills. She’s also crate-trained, house-trained, microchipped, spayed, and her vaccinations are up to date. A few of Nutmeg's adorable quirks include her enthusiasm for balls and puzzles, as well as her impressive jumping ability. She enjoys car rides and sunbathing, always keeping an eye on her loved ones. Nutmeg seeks a quiet, adult-only home where she can continue building confidence. She needs to be the only pet and cannot live with children or regular child visitors due to her past experiences that led to some defensive behaviors. Even though she’s made great strides through training, she'll thrive with an adopter who understands canine body language and uses positive reinforcement.
