Meet Dewey. Dewey’s journey began when a good Samaritan noticed a frightened, emaciated dog struggling to survive alone for over a month. Hiding between a busy road and a backyard, he was scared and just trying to blend in. Our team set a trap to rescue him, hoping his microchip would reunite him with a loving family. Unfortunately, the response was heartbreaking. The person linked to Dewey's chip referred to him as “terrible” and expressed no desire to reclaim him. However, the dog we met was far from that. Dewey entered the shelter as a senior stray and, after spending nearly a year in the shelter and time in foster care, was finally adopted, only to end up alone again. Now, safe in rescue, Dewey is gradually understanding that kindness exists.
