About Sassy

Sassy is a remarkable puppy who embodies resilience and the journey to trust. This little girl likely had a home at some point, but found herself alone for months, surviving on the edge of a ditch near a trailer, where a kind woman ensured she had food. Although Sassy was frightened and kept her distance, she spent her days watching the woman's chickens. Catching her was no easy task—she's incredibly quick! Eventually, a safe trap was the only way to bring her to safety. Since arriving at the shelter, Sassy has made impressive strides. She’s learning that humans can be kind, and though she’s still a bit timid, once she trusts you, she pours her heart into affection. Now just under a year old and weighing around 18 lbs, Sassy positively thrives around other dogs and would benefit immensely from a confident canine companion to help build her self-esteem. However, she is a flight risk and requires a secure fenced yard. A committed family must be diligent with doors and gates, as she’s still learning to feel safe. Sassy needs someone special—a patient family dedicated to earning her trust. In return, you’ll gain a loyal companion who will love you wholeheartedly.
