AvailableAbout Millie Mae
Currently located in: Chattanooga TN but transport is included in her adoption fee to any of the continental 48 US states, will also consider Canada! Good with dogs: Not particularly, she is very dog selective and would do best as the only dog! Good with cats: Sorry, kitties aren't for Millie! She is too big & playful for cats. Good with kids: Yes! Millie adores affection from anything 2 legged. Please keep in mind she can sometimes be unaware of how big she really is so she could knock a small child over accidentally. As always adult supervision is required. Crate trained: Yes! House trained: Yes! "Edible items left on counter are fair game" -Millie Meet Millie Mae - Your Goofy, Gorgeous Gentle Giant! Millie Mae is a stunning 3-year-old Great Dane with a heart as big as her paws. This sweet, smart, and delightfully goofy girl is ready to find her perfect forever home! Millie has never met a stranger; she absolutely adores people. Whether its snuggling in bed, handing out sweet kisses, or politely taking treats (she's incredibly gentle!), she's happiest when she's by your side. Millie has had extensive training which she graduated at the top of her class with honors! This girl knows her manners and commands and will gladly show them off, especially if treats are involved. Giving paw is her personal favorite- you will never need a hand to hold again-Millie loves to give you her paw. This leggy beauty is as playful as she is loving. She has a hilarious obsession with toys, especially her honking pig and hedgehog (adoption fee waived for those extra animals that will also be moving in. She is sure to keep you entertained with her silly antics. True to her Great Dane nature, Millie has no idea just how big she is, so a large couch (and a sense of humor!) is highly recommended if you'd like to keep a seat for yourself. Millie Mae is excellent with horses; her natural herding instincts shine when she gets to be out with her favorite pasture friends. Millie is a slim, elegant girl with legs for days, but she's also a big personality who will thrive with a confident, dog-savvy adopter ideally someone familiar with Great Danes who can provide structure, guidance, and remind her that despite her opinions (did we mention she's sassy and will her voice be heard) she is not actually in charge. She is crate trained and LOVES her crate, it's her safe, happy place (a 54 crate will be required for those long legs). If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining companion who will fill your home with love (and maybe take over your couch), Millie Mae might just be your perfect match. Millie Mae is an incredible dog who just needs the right home. She's been waiting, and dogs like her big, dog-selective, misunderstood goofballs often get overlooked. But the right person will see what we see: a loyal, hilarious, loving best friend who will give you her whole heart. If you think you are the right match for Millie Mae, please apply to adopt here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1doqwbKyo7ZFi9Wq2ss-et4DLqM7esQfvEUdXVZBnA98/viewform?edit_requested=true&pli=1 Her adoption fee is $750, this includes vetting, ProHeart12 injection (heartworm prevention for 1 year) transport (we typically can get within 1-2 hours of most places) and our animals all go home with an adoption bag to help them transition to their new home! We will NEVER ask or accept funds until your pets are in your hands. Please beware of scams! Important Information: All of our animals are fully vetted before going to their furever homes. They are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, dewormed, up to date on flea/tick prevention, heartworm prevention, and microchipped! You must be an approved adopter in order to go on meet and greets. This saves everyone time- especially our gracious foster families! This also allows for you to take the animals home from the meet and greet if you so choose. We are very quick to respond and process applications! All animals are posted until they have gone home to their new family. This animal may have other interested adopters in line. Please apply quickly and be prepared to welcome them into your home within a few days if you are interested. The Adoption Process: After our volunteers receive the application, they contact the potential adopter to set up an interview. During the interview they will: discuss the animal the adopter is applying to adopt, talk to the adopter about their experience with animals, find out more about the type of animal the adopter is looking to adopt, go over any questions the rescue may have regarding your application, help find the perfect fit for the adopter's family and lifestyle, and answer any questions the adopter has about the animal they are looking to adopt, the rescue, and how the adoption process works. As part of the approval process, we require 2 non-family personal references. Our volunteers contact both references and have conversations regarding the potential adopter. If we are unable to reach the references provided, additional references may be requested. We also require a vet check. We will call the vet to conduct a short reference check. A video walk-through of the adopter's home (and yard, if adopting a dog) is also required. The safety of our animals is one of our top priorities. They deserve to have a safe and secure place to live. The video can be sent to the Whiskers Fund email address or Facebook messenger upon submitting your application. When submitting the video, please reference which animal(s) you are applying to adopt. Once the adopter is approved and matched with an animal, we will make arrangements for the animal to go to their new home. We hope to have each animal in their new home within a week. We are very clear that we will be keeping in touch and checking in for updates. Interested in Fostering? We would love to have you join our family! Fill out the same application above- we have our fosters go through the same process as adopters! Questions? Please email whiskersfunds@gmail.com or message us on Facebook! Thank you for helping to save lives!
