Sebastian is a handsome 3-year-old Goldendoodle weighing approximately 35 lbs who is searching for a new forever family through absolutely no fault of his own. Sebastian recently came to ROOT Rescue after his owner made the difficult decision to surrender him due to an international move. Having spent his entire life with the same family, this transition has been a big change for him. While his family loves him dearly, they knew the best thing they could do was ensure he found a safe, loving home where he could continue to thrive. According to his family, Sebastian is one of the most loving dogs you could ever meet. He has a calm, gentle personality but also enjoys playtime and socializing with both people and other animals. He is dog-friendly, cat-friendly, and has a wonderful temperament overall. While he has not lived with children, so we cannot officially say he is kid-friendly, he has always been described as affectionate and easygoing. Sebastian has spent most of his life living in an apartment and has adapted well to that lifestyle. He is potty trained and has previously been left home alone for up to nine hours during the workday without issues. While we're unsure if he is crate trained, we do know he absolutely loves lounging on his elevated dog bed and relaxing near his people. As Sebastian enters this new chapter, we would love to find him a home similar to what he has knowna calm, stable environment filled with love and companionship. However, after years of apartment living, we think Sebastian deserves a little upgrade. A home with a fenced yard or outdoor space where he can stretch his legs, play, and enjoy the fresh air would be a dream come true for him. Sebastian is the perfect balance of playful and relaxed. He enjoys having fun with both people and other dogs but is equally content spending time quietly with his family. At 3 years old, he is past the puppy chaos but still has plenty of energy and many wonderful years ahead of him. He would make an excellent companion for someone looking for a loyal, affectionate dog who is already well past the challenging puppy stages. Sebastian is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, vet checked, and has tested negative for both heartworm and Lyme disease. He is a healthy boy who is ready to begin the next chapter of his life with a loving family. Sebastian is not neutered yet, but his neuter will be fully covered by ROOT Rescue and is scheduled to take place soon. As part of the adoption agreement, his adopter or foster-to-adopt family will be required to bring him back for his neuter appointment. Most importantly, Sebastian is looking for a forever home, not a temporary one. After losing the only home he has ever known, he deserves a family that is ready to make a lifelong commitment to him.
