Meet Hazel! Hazel is a lovely 4-year-old Pomeranian who is in search of a patient family that will give her the time she needs to truly shine. She entered rescue together with her sister, Penelope, after their previous owner couldn’t care for them anymore. On arrival, Hazel had overgrown nails and an unkempt coat, but with proper care, she has started to feel much more at ease. While she is sweet, Hazel can be shy around new people and situations. She’s not one to leap into your lap for affection right away. Instead, she prefers to observe from a distance and build trust slowly. For this reason, an adult-only home would be ideal, where she can feel safe and gradually adjust at her own pace. Once she knows she’s in a secure environment, Hazel reveals her loving nature, forming strong bonds with those she trusts. Hazel gets along well with other dogs and doesn’t seem to mind cats. She exhibits good house manners and is adapting to a new routine in her foster home. While she’s not fond of being crated, she is learning that with consistency, she can feel more comfortable. Regular grooming will be essential to keep her coat healthy and comfortable. Not suited for a tether or invisible fence, she will need a secured physical fence for safe outdoor exploration.
