Meet Pookie, a 3-year-old Pomeranian with a soft, red chestnut coat and a gentle presence. She came to the rescue as a stray and immediately charmed everyone with her sweet, easygoing ways. Pookie is shy at first but quickly warms up if you offer a quiet hello or a favorite treat—once she trusts you, she’ll stay close for couch time and cuddles, happy to be your constant companion. She sticks to her routines and loves her morning treat after a quick trip outside, dozing in a patch of sun, tossing around squeaky toys, or quietly following you from room to room. Playful but not boisterous, she enjoys other polite small dogs but is just as content being doted on herself. Pookie is crate trained and making steady progress with potty training, though she can still have accidents, especially on rugs. Puppy pads are helpful when you can’t supervise. She has no interest in rain, harnesses, or being picked up, and prefers her own space if she’s feeling uncertain. Because of an inoperable leg deformity and luxating patellas, Pookie needs a home with few or no stairs and a securely fenced yard—mobility aids could be part of her future. A peaceful house without small kids is best so she can settle in without stress. She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and on monthly preventative care.
