Kodiak and Chiniak are beautiful tortoiseshell sisters who are searching for a special home together. Born into a community cat colony, these girls learned that people can be trusted through the kindness of the person who fed them every evening. They have already come a long way—and with patience, they have the potential to come even farther. Kodiak is the brave sister and Chiniak's biggest source of comfort. When someone enters the room, Kodiak still likes to announce herself with a hiss, but don't be fooled—she's all talk. Once she gets a chance to sniff your hand and recognize you, she's happy to stick around for treats, gentle head and neck pets, and conversation. Kodiak loves being talked to and will sometimes chatter back. If her foster mom spends too much time tending to the kittens, Kodiak will politely tap her leg to remind her that it's Kodiak's turn for treats. She has incredibly soft fur and is discovering that people can be pretty wonderful. Together, these sisters are endlessly entertaining. They are very playful and like taking turns chasing each other, wrestling, and inventing games. Kodiak has even learned how to "popcorn" toys on the roof of her mesh playpen and slingshot puffballs across the room. At nap time, they can almost always be found sleeping side by side. These girls would be wonderful companions for someone who understands that earning a shy cat's trust is one of life's most rewarding experiences.
