Hi there! My name is Cher! I am a 4 month old, female Dachshund mix and I'm at the Santa Barbara Campus. Cher came to Santa Barbara Humane from an overcrowded area where many animals are in need of care and homes. Now safe and ready for a fresh start, Cher is looking for a family to call her own! Right now, I'm soaking up everything the world has to offer, which means I'll need a family that's excited to help me grow into the confident, well-mannered dog I'm meant to be. My ideal home understands that puppies are a lot of work! I came to SBH with my littermates and am still adjusting to this busy new world by myself. I would benefit from a patient adopter who can provide a calm, quiet home and who is willing to show me the world isn't such a scary place. I'll need ongoing training, socialization, mental enrichment, and plenty of positive experiences as I mature. Teaching me new skills, exploring the world together, and giving me appropriate outlets for my energy will help me become a wonderful companion. I'm looking for adopters who are ready to commit to positive reinforcement training, continued socialization with people, places, and experiences, and patience and consistency as I learn the ropes of family life. While I have lived in a home with children before, I would do best in an adult only home to help me gain my confidence. I may be adorable now, but I won't stay this size forever! I'll continue to grow into an intelligent dog who thrives when given structure, guidance, and a job to do-even if that job is simply being your loyal sidekick. So come and meet me, I might just be the perfect addition to your family. Adoptions are open 12pm-4:30pm every day, except Wednesdays, and no appointment is needed. Like all SBH animals, when I am adopted I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adoptions also include a certificate for a complimentary post-adoption veterinary exam from a local clinic and our partners at Hills Science Diet will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home. Need some supplies? Both SB Humane Campuses have retail centers stocked with everything you need, at comparable prices, and your purchase helps support our mission. Hope to see you soon!
