Meet Rocky! Rocky is a 4-year-old Great Pyrenees with quite the story to tell. After being found running loose and suffering from multiple porcupine quills throughout his face, Rocky was rescued through the combined efforts of local police and dedicated volunteers. Thanks to the wonderful care provided by our friends at Laurel Highlands Animal Health, Rocky has made a full recovery and is feeling better than ever. While Rocky may be a little shy when meeting new people, patience and kindness go a long way with this gentle giant. Once he begins to trust you, his sweet and affectionate personality truly shines. Rocky absolutely loves attention and can never get enough head scratches and belly rubs from his favorite people. Rocky would do best as the only dog in the home, as he does not appear to get along well with other dogs. We are unsure how he feels about cats, but we would be happy to perform a cat test upon request. Rocky also has some toy and food possessiveness. Our staff is actively working with him on these behaviors, but because of this, we feel he would be most successful in a home with children 12 years of age or older who can understand and respect his boundaries. Rocky has overcome a lot and is now ready to find a patient, loving family that will give him the happy ending he deserves.
