YOU MUST BE IN THE TAMPA BAY AREA DUE TO HER ONGOING TREATMENT Meet Your New Best Friend This beautiful girl Amaris is approximately 12 years old and is looking for a family to help her begin the next chapter of her life. Found tied to a fence in Alabama, brought into the rescue in March and had 4 beautiful pups who live in Tampa! She has already overcome so much, yet she greets every day with a gentle heart and endless love to give. She is house-trained, wonderful with other dogs, and has the sweetest, most soulful eyes that will melt you the moment you meet her. With her silky-smooth coat and perfect medium size, shes the kind of dog who fits right into your lifeand your lap. One of her favorite ways to show affection is by pushing her head into you for a hug, soaking up every bit of love and attention. This sweet girl is currently heartworm positive, but her treatment will be covered through FARR. She is taking medication to help keep her heart strong as she begins her journey toward becoming heartworm-free. During treatment and recovery, she will need strict activity restrictionsno running, rough play, or strenuous exercise until she receives medical clearance. What she can do, however, is become a professional cuddle companion. She would happily spend her recovery curled up beside you on the couch, enjoying belly rubs and all the love shes missed out on. She loves being outdoors and would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard where she can safely enjoy the fresh air while following her recovery plan. One of the most heartwarming things about her is that shes still learning how to be a dog. Her very first toy was given to her in foster care, and watching her discover the simple joys of life (and Florida lizards) has been so fun! Now all she needs is a family willing to help her heal and show her what a loving forever home feels like.
