Meet Little Girl! Little Girl is a beautiful 7-month-old orange tabby with a personality as bright as her gorgeous coat. What makes her especially unique? Orange female cats are actually quite rare! The gene responsible for orange coloring is carried on the X chromosome, and because females have two X chromosomes, they need to inherit the orange gene from both parents to be fully orange. As a result, only about 20% of orange cats are female, making Little Girl a special find. This playful girl loves just about everyone: cats, dogs, toys, and people! She can be a little shy when meeting someone new, but give her a little time and she'll happily come over for pets and attention. Once she knows she's safe, her affectionate and fun-loving personality shines through. Little Girl was trapped alongside several other cats and had very little human interaction during the first five months of her life. Despite that, she showed an interest in people from the start and genuinely enjoyed receiving attention. She still has occasional moments of nervousness as she continues to build confidence, but overall she has made wonderful progress and truly enjoys the company of humans. With her stunning markings, playful spirit, and sweet nature, Little Girl would love a forever home with another friendly cat or dog to be her playmate.
