Meet Sesame, the Soft-Eyed Sweetheart! I'm a 2 year old Beagle weighing 15 pounds, and while I may be shy, I'm doing my best to learn that the world can be a wonderful place. I'm searching for an experienced, patient, and loving family who understands that trust takes time to grow. There are still so many things I'm discovering about life in a home, and I'll need a gentle guide to help me build confidence along the way. A friendly, confident dog companion is required, to give me someone to follow and learn from as I navigate all these exciting (scary) new experiences. I want nothing more than to feel safe, loved, and part of a family. With time, patience, and understanding, I know I'll blossom into a loyal companion. ❗️ Important Things to Know If Considering Adopting One Of These Beagles ❗️ These dogs are incredibly sweet, but they will need patient, understanding adopters who are 100% committed to helping them adjust to life as beloved pets. * Another dog is required. A friendly, confident dog in the home will help them learn routines, build confidence, and adjust more quickly. * Safety is critical. They are an extreme flight risk and must always be securely managed outdoors with appropriate equipment. Even fenced yards are not enough on their own. * Everything is new. Everyday sights, sounds, people, pets, and experiences may be overwhelming at first. They will need time to explore the world at their own pace. * Go slow. Calm voices, gentle handling, and predictable routines will help them feel safe. They may shut down when frightened or overstimulated. * House training will take time. Patience and consistency are a must as they learn what life in a home is all about. * Most importantly, these are not "plug-and-play" pets. They will require time, patience, understanding, and possibly professional training.
