Hi, I'm Chaunce! I'm a 10-year-old Silver Labrador Retriever, and I'm looking for a family to call my own. For most of my life, I lived outdoors on a breeding farm, so many of the things that other dogs take for granted are still new to me. Now that I'm in foster care, I'm learning just how wonderful life as a family dog can be. I weigh about 72 pounds and have been told I'm a pretty handsome fellow. I love attention, gentle pets, and spending time with people. I'm a friendly, easygoing dog who enjoys being included in daily life and spending time with my family. One of the best things I've discovered is playing with tennis balls. I love chasing them, carrying them around, and bringing them back. My foster family says it's fun to watch my playful side come out. I also do very well with other dogs. I enjoy canine companionship, interact nicely with dogs of different ages, and have even done great with puppies. I enjoy going for walks and am easy to walk on leash. Whether we're exploring the neighborhood or just taking a stroll around the block, I'm happy to be by your side. I've developed very good house manners and settle nicely in the home. Because I spent most of my life living outdoors, house training is still something I'm learning. My foster family helps set me up for success with regular potty breaks, monitoring my water intake, and a belly band when I'm loose in the house. With a consistent routine, I'm typically accident-free during the day. The belly band is mainly a management tool while I continue to learn. When I'm supervised and taken out regularly, I do very well. I'm also an excellent overnight guest. I sleep quietly in my crate for at least eight hours each night without accidents and wake up ready for a new day. One thing I'm still not sure about is car rides. My foster family is helping me learn that they're nothing to worry about, but they're not one of my favorite things yet. I should also tell you that I'm not a fan of cats, so I'd do best in a home without any feline roommates. My favorite things are pretty simple: a comfy bed, a few treats, a tennis ball, a nice walk, kind people, and a quiet place to relax. My foster family says I'm sweet, loyal, and always happy to be part of whatever is going on. I'm neutered, up to date on all my vaccinations, and ready to find my forever family. I may be a senior, but I still have plenty of love left to give. If you're looking for a gentle companion who enjoys both playtime and quiet time, I just might be the dog for you. Could you be the family I've been waiting for?
