About Major

Meet Major (ACCT-A-253258)! This sweet soul is a true "gentle giant" who is looking for a soft place to land. Major recently came to the shelter after his family faced some difficult hardships, and though he is understandably a bit overwhelmed by the transition, his sweet and laid-back disposition shines through. Major is a quiet, easygoing fellow who appreciates the simple things in life-like a tasty piece of pepperoni! While he can be a little shy when meeting new people in a kennel setting, he warms up with a gentle approach and some savory treats. Once he's out for a walk, he is a gentleman on the leash and displays a calm, low-key energy. In the play yard, Major tends to keep to himself, often looking out toward the horizon or staying close to his human companions for quiet support. He has been very tolerant when meeting other dogs, showing a polite and submissive nature. Major is the kind of dog who would likely love a peaceful home where he can lounge comfortably and be the loyal companion he was always meant to be. If you have room in your heart and home for a sophisticated, gentle friend, Major is waiting to meet you! Sociability: Asocail in the yard, not coming over for treats or calling his name. Kept looking out to the parking lot and staying near the fence, tail low and still, ears to the side, panting. Tolerated all handling with tail low, ears back, moved away when I stopped. Eating pepperoni in the yard on and off. Play: n/a Dog Interaction: Met Pulitzer, tail low, ears back, tolerated being sniffed, moving away. Return to Kennel: Went into an office, walked back loose leash with the same body language as walking out. Able to remove leash easily by hand.
