Bruno is a one-year-old Maltese/Papillon mix with the cutest oversized ears, long little legs, and an adorable quirky look that makes him impossible not to love. This handsome little guy was surrendered by his previous family, who told us he was simply too playful for their senior dog. While we don't know the full story, we do know that Bruno deserves a family who will appreciate his fun-loving personality and give him the patience and love he needs to thrive. When Bruno first arrived in foster care, he was understandably nervous and unsure of his new surroundings. It took him a few days to warm up to his foster, but having other dogs in the home helped him realize he was finally safe. Watching the resident dogs gave him the confidence to come out of his shell, and before long he was showing everyone just how sweet and affectionate he truly is. Because of this, we believe Bruno would do wonderfully in a home with another friendly, confident dog, although he can certainly be the only dog as long as his adopter is patient and willing to earn his trust. Once Bruno feels comfortable, he is an incredibly loving little companion. He loves going for walks, enjoys car rides, and is happiest spending time with his people. He gets along well with both dogs and cats. While his experience with children is unknown, we feel he would do best in a quieter home without young children so he can adjust at his own pace and continue building his confidence. When Bruno came into our care, his coat was severely matted and uncomfortable, so we had no choice but to shave him down completely. As his beautiful coat grows back, his future family should be prepared for regular grooming and routine coat maintenance to keep him healthy, comfortable, and looking his best. Bruno has been fully vetted and is up to date on his vaccinations, heartworm and Lyme tested, dewormed, microchipped, neutered, vet checked, and crate trained. He is ready to leave his past behind and start the next chapter of his life with a family that will love him unconditionally.
