About Panda

This January wasn't looking good for Puffy and Panda. They found themselves abandoned in the shelter. These two senior boys had been apparently loved and cared for by their person since they were kittens, but when their person died the family took them to the shelter. Confused, frightened, and caged, both refused to eat. Fortunately, their situation was brought to Purr Partners attention, and the stressed boys were quickly pulled from the shelter and placed in their foster home. After a few days of hiding, Puffy, the more confident of the two ventured out to get attention and explore his new surroundings. It took a few more days for Panda to feel safe and follow but the concerning part was that they would still not eat. This was especially concerning for Puffy because he was overweight and for an overweight cat not eating can cause hepatic lipidosis or fatty liver disease which can result in death. Since we had no idea what food they had been eating and after trying many varieties of cat food the foster was able to get them to eat dry Meow Mix. Now that they have transitioned to healthy cat food the boys have good appetites. After vet check ups and dental check ups, both now have dazzling smiles, the boys are ready to find their real forever home, together. We would not want to separate these unrelated brothers at this point. Panda, we're not sure how the name evolved, is a very sweet cat, calm and gentle. This easy-going fellow enjoys strolling by for attention but also likes his time reclining on a comfy pillow or in the window. Although he is not a lap cat, he likes keeping Puffy and his foster company. Pets are one of his indulgences and he'll show his appreciation by rolling over and stretching so you can reach all the best areas. Short bouts with the laser light or soft toy he considers amusing and stimulating. Panda responds to his name. Puffy, and the name does fit our sweet handsome snuggler, is outgoing and loves attention, the ultimate lap cat. He is very sweet natured and attentive. A talented key-board-warmer he will keep you company during computer sessions and will even discover keyboard options yet unknown. As a long hair cat he appreciates a good neck scratch and his daily brushing. He has been know to chase a laser light when the mood strikes. Puffy does know his name and comes when called, usually. He will require daily brushing to keep his long fur silky and unmatted. They will do best in a home where they are the only pets. Puffy and Panda are looking for a home together where they can offer companionship and love to their person or family for many years. For more information or to apply to adopt, please go to: https://www.purrpartners.org/adopt/
