Foster-to-Adopt Needed for Bonded English Bulldog Pair located in Richmond, VA Meet Bruno and Cookie, a bonded pair of English Bulldogs looking for a special foster-to-adopt home where they can remain together. Their owner is moving out of the country in mid-July. Bruno Born March 17, 2016 (10 years old) 83 lbs., neutered Bruno is a sweet, stoic senior bulldog who is happiest relaxing on the porch and watching the world go by. He is house trained, crate trained, up to date on vaccinations, and receives regular flea, tick, and heart worm prevention. Bruno has several medical conditions, including severe allergies, chronic ear disease, osteoarthritis, and some skin masses that require monitoring. Due to chronic pain and inflammation in his ears, he is very protective of them and will need a patient caregiver willing to earn his trust. His mobility is limited, and stairs should be avoided whenever possible. He does beautifully with his lifelong companion, Cookie, but should be monitored around strange dogs due to his barrier reactivity (reacting at fences and doors). He is wonderful with children when they understand not to touch his head or ears and does best with a calm, predictable routine. Cookie Born February 15, 2021 35 lbs., spayed Cookie is a lovable, moderate-energy girl who enjoys lounging, being spoiled, and spending time with her people. She is house trained, potty bell trained, and up to date on vaccinations. Cookie has undergone multiple orthopedic surgeries and is fully recovered from a recent TPLO procedure. She also has allergies, some vision limitations, and sensitivity to heat. Despite her medical challenges, she remains a happy girl who enjoys exploring and interacting with her family. She grew up with children, has daily positive interactions with neighborhood dogs, and has never had any issues with children. Bonded Pair Bruno and Cookie share a very special bond and must remain together. They provide comfort and companionship to one another and are looking for a family willing to open their home and hearts to both dogs. They would probably do best with no other dogs or a very mellow resident dog. Veterinary records will be provided to approved applicants. We are seeking a foster-to-adopt home with bulldog experience, a commitment to ongoing veterinary care, and the patience to help these two wonderful dogs settle into their new life.
