About Poppy
Meet Poppy, a lovely young female Hound/Border Collie mix, currently out of state and soon to travel to New England at no extra cost. This 2-3-year-old beauty, weighing about 35 pounds, was found as a stray in Tennessee, which is surprising since she deserves to be in a loving home. Poppy is a mild-mannered dog who adapts well to family life, even thriving in a busy household with a German Shepherd, two cats, and a one-year-old baby. She's gentle and handles the baby's noises with ease, making her a delightful companion. Poppy enjoys being petted and loves curling up on your feet for a nap. She is seemingly potty trained and sleeps well in a crate overnight. Poppy is great on leashed walks, exploring her surroundings and occasionally getting excited about squirrels. Though she may bark at other dogs, it’s seldom and manageable with a gentle "no." While Poppy has a shy side and approaches new situations carefully, her sweet personality quickly shines through. She might not be the rough-and-tumble play type, but supervised playtime at dog parks could help her learn mouth play. Don't wait to welcome this precious pup into your heart and home!
