About Bernard

Meet Bernard, an approximately 2-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix looking for a carefully selected forever home. He weighs around 40 pounds and has a unique white coat with fawn markings, complemented by remarkable ears. Bernard's journey began at Richmond Animal Control, where he arrived in January and has since transformed into a well-mannered, affectionate dog, deeply loyal to those he trusts. He has completed an intensive training program and walks beautifully on a leash. Despite his progress, Bernard can be reactive, having had two incidents with unfamiliar people, and he shows aggression toward other dogs. This means he is not suitable for multi-dog households or homes with young children. Bernard requires an experienced adopter who understands reactive behavior and can provide the structure and patient leadership he needs to thrive. If you are knowledgeable about high-needs dogs and want to know more about Bernard, please reach out. He has so much love to give to the right person. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
