About Petey
Do you love cattle dogs but wish for a more portable version? Meet Petey, also known as Pequitas Pete! This charming, polka-dotted bundle of joy is about 2-3 years old and ready to become your best friend. Weighing in at around 11 lbs, Petey has a big, plumy tail that he wags constantly. He has an adorable overbite reminiscent of Geena Davis. Petey was found as a stray with a fractured leg but has since healed after surgery thanks to the UC Davis Fracture Program. Now, he's eager to find his forever home. This high-energy pup craves an active family that can keep up with his playful spirit. He enjoys playing in the yard, exploring while on walks, and taking cozy naps in the shade or doghouse. He's sociable with other dogs and does well with small companions, though he thrives best with other energetic playmates. While we’re unsure about how he feels about cats, he might coexist happily with dog-savvy cats. A good fit for older kids—around 10 and up—would make him even happier. House and crate trained, Petey sleeps soundly in his crate and manages well when left alone for short times. His vocal nature might not suit apartment living, as he loves to express his excitement. Petey has plenty of love and energy to share. Could you be the family he’s been waiting for? If so, submit your application today!
