Toby is a three-year-old, small, male mixed breed dog weighing 13 pounds. He is not yet altered and is seeking a loving home to start his new life. His friendly nature makes him a good candidate for a family with older children. Toby is learning obedience and could benefit from training to boost his confidence and household manners.

About Toby

Toby didn't ask to be homeless. At three years old and weighing only 13 pounds, this sweet boy was found wandering alone as a stray. Day after day, he waited in vain for a family to come and claim him. Now, Toby is hoping to find a forever home where he can feel safe and loved. Despite his tough start, he remains a playful and affectionate dog who thrives on attention. His tail wags eagerly whenever someone shows him kindness. Toby is eager to share his love with those around him. As he adjusts to being part of a family, basic obedience training would greatly benefit him, helping him build confidence and learn commands. Crate training is also advised to give him a safe space while you’re away. Toby gets along well with other small dogs but should be introduced to any cats slowly, as his experience with them is unknown. Due to his energy level and learning phase, a home with children aged 10 and older would be ideal. What Toby longs for is simple: a soft bed, a loving family, and the security of knowing he'll never be left behind again. If you’re ready to welcome this loyal companion into your home, Toby is waiting to meet you. Come visit Toby at Macomb County Animal Control, open Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM. Adoption fee: $300.
