About Lon
Lon is one of a lively group of 10 pups, brought into rescue by PUP for a better opportunity at finding loving homes. Raised in a challenging environment, this little guy and his siblings are ready for a fresh start. His mother resembles a scruffy terrier, while his father remains a mystery. A recent DNA test on one sibling revealed quite the mix, including breeds like Australian Cattle Dog, German Shepherd, and Pembroke Welsh Corgi, among others. It's a blend that promises a healthy, energetic pup without the risks of inbreeding. As a baby, Lon is destined to be mid-sized, but adopters should embrace the unpredictability of his growth. Socialization is crucial at this stage. It's important for him to experience various environments and meet people and other dogs of all kinds. Regular puppy play dates and socialization classes will lay a strong foundation for his development into a well-adjusted adult dog. Lon has been vet checked, is vaccinated, and has been de-wormed, though he'll need a couple more vaccinations and a rabies shot, which will be at the adopterβs expense. His required neutering is included in the adoption fee if done by six months at the PUP clinic. Prospective adopters over 21 with household support for a puppy should reach out by phone, as the response time for emails may be slow. If you have a dog or cat, be ready to provide vet references if needed. Lon will be available to go to his new home starting June 22. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
