Rescued from a hoarding situation in North Carolina, he’s learning to navigate a new world and would love a home that can help him grow. His foster mom affectionately calls him Harvard due to his regal sitting posture. Harvey is a sweet and gentle soul who enjoys following his humans from room to room, earning him the nickname Shadow. Although he knows how to sit and lay down, he prefers to do so on his own terms, and commands are a work in progress. His big tail wags are sure to warm your heart, and he thrives in the company of other dogs, finding comfort and guidance in their presence. While he’s made strides socially, Harvey still feels shy around new people. A calm environment with familiar fur friends suits him best, and fast movements can startle him. Though he is fully house trained, he may not always signal when he needs to go outside. He loves to cuddle and is learning to enjoy pets and belly rubs, gradually leaning into your touch once he trusts you.
