About Opal
Opal is a lovely American Foxhound in need of a new home. Previously known as Mama Jean, she finds herself looking for a change after four wonderful years with her adopting family, who reluctantly must let her go due to lifestyle changes and her growing interest in their pet chickens. At five years old and around 35 pounds, Opal is playful, energetic, and enjoys spending time with other dogs. She's grown from a timid rescue dog into a confident and friendly companion who loves adventures, whether hiking on a leash or lounging on the couch in a snug ball. In fact, she's quite the nap enthusiast, often enjoying 12-14 hours of sleep a night! She has a sweet disposition towards children, dogs, and even horses and cows, but sheβs not suited for homes with small animals, as she has shown a tendency to chase chickens. Opal is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and has recently undergone dental cleaning with no health issues. Though she knows her name, she may not respond reliably, so a fenced yard would be ideal for her. If you're ready to welcome this charming hound into your life, you might find your new best friend in Opal. Click apply to start the adoption process.
