About Lewis
Meet Lewis! This 1-year-old, 13-pound Dachshund/Terrier mix came to us as a stray and has quickly made himself at home in his foster environment. Lewis is brimming with energy and personality. He thrives on companionship, whether it’s going for a walk, playing with toys, or simply hanging out with his people. Though he still has some manners to learn, he’s eager to impress. Sometimes he gets a bit too excited and may jump or bark when meeting other pets, but he settles down with a little patience. Lewis would benefit from having another dog around, and he has shown that he can get along with confident cats after an initial adjustment. He’s currently working on potty training but is making solid progress. Due to his playful nature, he may be a bit mouthy, so a home without small children would be best; older kids who want a fun companion would suit him nicely. Lewis enjoys squeaky and chew toys and is always ready to join in on games. At night, he sleeps well in his kennel but doesn’t like being left alone for long. A home where someone is around most of the day would be ideal for him. He's leash trained and enjoys his walks, but be prepared for some stubborn moments when he decides he’s had enough. With continued training, he’ll grow into a wonderful family companion who brings joy and laughter along with him. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
