About Calvin
Calvin is a scrappy Westie/Dachshund mix who never really stops moving. He came from a rough start after being abandoned near Humble, but once his rescuers won him over, Calvin transformed into a loyal and affectionate companion. He bonds deeply with his foster family, and when meeting new people, he just needs a little time (and a few treats) before his friendly side shows up. Calvin is high energy all day long. He’s happiest when he’s chasing toys or goading someone—furry or human—into playtime. Rest assured, he’s working on learning to settle down when needed, but relaxing isn’t his strong suit yet. Crate training has come along, and while Calvin might protest at first, he does calm down eventually. He’s house trained, rides well in the car, and is very attached to his people. Calvin will do best with an experienced adopter who can give him structure and continued guidance on his manners. He’d love to have a playful canine companion around his size or larger, but he’s too pushy for much smaller dogs. Calvin doesn’t have a mean bone in his body—he just plays rough and needs reminders about boundaries. Calvin is in Kingwood, TX. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
