About Maya Carbondale
Meet Maya! Maya is a sweet young dog who was rescued from Mexico, brought to Los Angeles, and is now embracing mountain life near Vail, Colorado. Weighing in at around 35 lbs, she is likely some kind of Australian Shepherd mix. While she possesses those classic herding dog instincts and is exceptionally smart, her exercise needs aren't overwhelming. Some days, a couple of walks and fetching are enough, and on others, she'll happily join you for a couple-mile hike. Regardless of the day's activity, she’s content to curl up at home, enjoying the quiet or munching on a bone. Maya is crate trained and has quickly mastered commands like Sit and Leave It. Outside, she’s curious but prefers to stay close to her people. With a soft medium-length coat, she loves to snuggle, often leaning into your legs for affection. She gets along well with kids, always greeting them with a wagging tail and gentle licks. Ideally, she'd suit a somewhat active household that maintains a calm environment, as she can get overwhelmed in chaotic situations. Given her challenging beginnings, she yearns to please and might thrive with a confident canine sibling to guide her. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
