About Aventura Aka Vinny

Aventura Aka Vinny is an endearing young Chow Chow who was discovered wandering alone in the woods of Georgia. Initially terrified and unsure, he is currently in a foster home where he’s slowly learning about love. Vinny needs a patient adopter who can allow him to adjust at his own speed. He's timid around strangers but shows no aggression; he simply needs respectful space, particularly from younger kids. As he warms up, he exhibits classic Chow Chow behavior—leaning in for affection when he thinks you’re not watching and finding comfort in familiar surroundings. Although he’s not a cuddly type, Vinny is beginning to appreciate pets and grooming. He thrives with the company of other dogs and has a gentle play style, making him a great companion for a canine playmate. Vinny enjoys chewing on bones and has his own special spot for toys, though he doesn’t guard them. He settles well after playtime and likes to be near familiar faces. While he’s house and pad trained, he’s still refining his leash skills and needs a securely fenced yard if there’s outdoor access, as he can be a flight risk. A calm, quiet home in a peaceful area will help him feel safe and secure. Vinny is neutered, microchipped, and heartworm negative. We can’t fathom why anyone would abandon this sweet boy, but his future family will gain a loving companion if they give him the time he needs to thrive. Vinny is currently being fostered in New York City, NY, and paid transport can be arranged for his adoptive home.
