About Phoenix
Phoenix is a 19-month-old, 55-pound Standard Poodle. Bred by a backyard breeder, he faced a grim fate when his previous owner sought euthanasia over vomiting and diarrhea. However, since joining the rescue, Phoenix has shown no such issues. He underwent extensive testing to ensure his health, and all results came back normal. After entering rescue, several owners of his littermates identified chicken sensitivities in their dogs, so we switched Phoenix to Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin & Stomach Lamb Formula, which has been beneficial for him. While we can't guarantee that chicken was the issue, future adopters should maintain a chicken-free diet and stay vigilant for sensitivities. Phoenix possesses a moderate energy level. He enjoys playtime and exercise but is far from hyperactive. He thrives on family involvement and outdoor activities, requiring space to run safely in a physically fenced yard. When meeting new people, he may be a bit shy initially but quickly shows his affectionate side, loving attention and companionship. He gets along well with other dogs and has adjusted nicely to cats. Additionally, Phoenix is house trained and has shown great adaptability during his time in foster care. This sweet, intelligent dog embodies the qualities of a Standard Poodle: loyalty and a deep family connection. If you want a gentle, loving companion, Phoenix could be your ideal match.
