About Akira
Meet Akira, a playful and cheerful girl who adores squeaky toys and balls. She's always ready for a game—just toss a toy and she’ll happily bring it back, leaning against you for some petting in between. Akira enjoys cuddling while playing and is discovering the joys of tug games. On walks, she takes in all the scents and behaves well on her leash, eager for those extra moments with her people. Akira recently had a blast on a field trip where she eagerly hopped into the car, enjoyed a delightful walk, and even chose a squeaky toy at the pet store. This sweet girl listens attentively and is curious but keeps her cool around other people and pets. While she may take a bit of time to warm up to new faces, she is smart and already knows how to sit. Adopters will receive a discount on training classes to help her refine her manners. Previously, Akira was mostly housetrained and has lived with teenagers, so she’s looking for a home with teens and up. She gets along well with other dogs and enjoys a lively playgroup, so having furry friends would surely delight her. She's also qualified for the 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program, offering a chance to see if Akira is the right fit for your family. If you're interested, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org to arrange a time to meet her!
