About Ruby

Ruby is a delightful companion who thrives on affection. This total lap dog adores flipping and flopping into her foster family's laps, spreading joy with her sweet, silly smile. She loves to cruise with her head out the car window, following her people around wherever they go, and often curls up at their feet while sleeping. Ruby does well on a leash, though she can be a bit anxious around loud noises or fast movements, so a calm home would suit her best. She prefers one-on-one interactions and tends to be an introvert with other dogs, enjoying the company of those with a similar play style. A slow introduction to other dogs is recommended to help her feel comfortable. Ruby is also curious about cats but hasn’t had much exposure to them. Young or busy children can overwhelm her, making a more mature environment ideal. Overall, Ruby is an affectionate and cuddly companion ready to find her forever home. This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you're interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to fosterinquiry@arl-iowa.org. Every animal deserves a happy ending.
