About Aspen
Aspen is a 23-year-old boy weighing 53 lbs who’s already made it through incredible odds. He was rescued from Dead Dog Beach in Puerto Rico as a stray and survived heartworm treatment. He’s now searching for his forever home. Aspen is sharp and does best with routine, guidance, and the chance to build trust at his own pace. Once he feels secure, he turns into a deeply loyal, affectionate companion who loves nothing more than curling up close with his person. Aspen does best with an experienced adopter who understands dog behavior and is comfortable providing firm, gentle boundaries. He’s not a fit for homes with young kids or cats, as he needs stability and clear expectations. If you're looking to make a real difference for a dog who's proven just how resilient he can be, Aspen is ready to meet you. He’s flying to New Jersey on June 27th and hopes to go straight from the airport to his new life. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.

Questions about Aspen
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Aspen is a mixed-breed dog with Yellow Labrador Retriever in his background. Generally, these dogs do best in a calm and structured home with a consistent daily routine. Aspen would thrive with plenty of stability and an environment where he feels safe to build trust.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Dogs like Aspen, with Labrador Retriever heritage, appreciate regular outdoor time to stretch their legs and explore. While a fenced yard is great, daily walks and supervised playtime are equally important if a yard isn't available.
