Meeko is a large, tricolor (brown, black, and white) Akita currently in Boulder, CO. At around 3 to 4 years old, he’s a neutered male who is up to date on vaccinations. Meeko is known for his gentle and shy temperament around new faces, and his background makes him a good choice for someone familiar with big dogs.

About Meeko

Meeko is a 3-4 year old Akita with a big heart and a touch of shyness. Weighing in at about 80lbs, he spent the last year living at a Texas horse barn among a pack of eight other dogs. Meeko’s dog, kid, and horse friendly—he greets new friends with a bit of hesitation, but it doesn’t take long for his sweet nature to show. He’s well loved at the farm, with a loyal group of horse riders cheering him on as he looks for his real home. He’d do best with someone experienced with large breeds or Akitas, and comes with two one-on-one dog training sessions to help with the transition. Meeko is neutered and fully vaccinated. He’s currently heartworm positive, which is being treated at a partner vet in Golden and all costs are covered—this condition isn’t contagious, and the treatment plan is already underway.
