Cali is a young, spayed female mixed breed dog in Madera, CA, with a short black and white coat. She’s about 10 months old, medium in size, and is not yet house trained. Cali’s vaccinations are current, and while she’s curious and adaptable, a few healed injuries and minor knee issues are noted but don’t slow her down.

About Cali

Cali’s story is a wild one for a dog so young. After being left at a local fire station, she quickly worked her charm on the firefighters, winning their trust and affection in no time. Though she’d had a chip, it led on a meandering trail through families and previous adopters, but with no one stepping up, Cali faced abandonment for the third time before turning one. She’s unfazed: eager, loving, and just wants to be close to her people. Cali comes loaded with early training—she’s mastered sit, walks well on a loose leash, and is picking up new skills quickly. She’s friendly with other dogs, gentle with cats, goats, and even horses, and travels well in a car. At 35 pounds with a short black and white coat, she’s easy to handle, affectionate, and genuinely wants to be a part of things. Her old leg injury and a removed benign mass don’t hold her back, and the vet says her mild luxating patellas may even improve as she grows. Cali is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and ready to settle in with a patient, loving home. Born July 19, 2025—she’s a Cancer, which may explain her loyal, sensitive nature. What are you waiting for?
