About Benson

Benson is gentle and quiet—a true observer who prefers lounging nearby rather than being a constant shadow. After getting hit by a car in Texas and needing a leg amputation, he gradually discovered that people can bring good things: treats, air conditioning, and a bit of kindness. Now, Benson is looking for a calm, low-traffic home where he can keep an eye on things without a lot of commotion. He gets along well with other dogs and doesn’t mind cats at all. House trained and great in the car, Benson has always been a gentleman for his vet visits and any handling. He would not enjoy a noisy household—kids over 12 who understand dog boundaries are his best match, as too much chaos is overwhelming for him. With just three legs, Benson does best in homes with few stairs, but he still gets around fine and prefers a slower pace. He won’t be up for big, busy adventures; he just wants a peaceful spot to rest and enjoy quiet companionship. Currently in Nashville, TN, but eligible to travel within BFDR’s reach.
