About Jasmine

Jasmine is one of those dogs who seems to squeeze every drop out of life. Whether she's hanging out in the office or chasing a ball until your arm is tired, her enthusiasm for everything is front and center. Toys don’t stand a chance against her; she’ll destuff a plush in minutes, outpace a retriever on fetch, and isn’t shy about asking for another throw. People are her top priority. If you’re in a room, Jasmine is close by—always eager to be included. She’s food-motivated during training, though you’ll want to hand her treats directly instead of tossing them, or she’ll look at you like you forgot her snack altogether. While she enjoys the presence of other dogs, Jasmine isn’t into roughhousing. Playgroups are fine if everyone minds their manners—no bodychecks from bigger dogs, please. She’s house trained and has her basic manners down. Physically, Jasmine does have some special needs: several herniated discs in her back and nerve impingement near her tail. She’s on medication to manage inflammation and support her nerves, and she’ll need a vigilant adopter who understands her physical limits. Jumping off furniture or stairs isn’t safe for her; repeated trauma could mean losing use of her back legs, and her condition could eventually lead to full incontinence. But right now, Jasmine’s loving her walks, her games, and every minute spent with her people. Jasmine gets along with both dogs and children, but should be in a home where her condition is well managed and her environment stays gentle. She’ll come home with gear and a week’s worth of supplies to help her settle in. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.

Questions about Jasmine

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Jasmine, as a Jack Russell Terrier/Terrier mix, typically does best in a home where she can be near her people and get regular interaction. Her energy and sociability make her a great companion for families, though her special needs mean she requires a gentle setting.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

This breed usually enjoys having access to a secure yard or regular outdoor walks. Jasmine still loves walks and a bit of play, but her back issues mean heavy running and jumping should be limited, so a safe, moderate outdoor space is ideal.
