About Grover

Meet Grover Chillington. Grover started out in a tough spot at a high-intake shelter in Houston and landed on the euthanasia list in just a few weeks. Thankfully, a caring foster family stepped in, and Grover showed everyone he’s pure chill—so much so that he was initially thought to be a 6-year-old, but multiple vets have since pegged him at 2-3 years old, with an old soul in a medium-sized, 48-pound body. Grover loves hanging out with his people the most. He’s content joining you in the backyard, walking the neighborhood, or napping on the softest spot in the house. A couple of good walks and some relaxed time together make his day. Despite having access to a big property at his foster’s farm, Grover never strays far—he wants to stay close and keeps an eye on his people. He’s great off-leash and on, fully house trained, and has impeccable manners inside. Not destructive, not a barker, and always ready to settle in after some adventure, Grover gets along with everyone he’s met, including other dogs and farm animals. He can be a little shy at first, but he quickly becomes a belly rub aficionado. Grover wins over people and animals alike with his easy, gentle presence. While his breed mix is a best guess (maybe hound, maybe cattle dog), he feels like a unicorn in a dog’s body—adaptable, easy, and genuinely loving. He’ll be ready to travel to his forever home in July, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered, after finishing up heartworm treatment. Adoption fee includes transport, and Grover is available nationwide. Click apply to start the adoption process.
