About Velma

Velma is a 2-year-old Pit Bull Terrier/Shar-Pei mix with a gentle, affectionate nature. She came from a local shelter and has quickly warmed up to home life, preferring human company and lap snuggles over toys. Velma is confident on a leash, calmly sitting or laying down for you to put it on her, and she’s fully house trained. While she’s still a little unsure around other dogs and even stairs, she’s shown she can get along with cats. Loud or busy environments may take some getting used to for her. Velma is heartworm positive, but her treatment is underway and covered by Beagles and Bentleys. She’s already spayed, vaccinated, and kept up on preventatives. Her birthday makes her an Aquarius—quirky and loyal at heart. Velma is being fostered in Richmond, VA and her adoption fee is $375, which covers all her care to date.
