Duke is a loyal, affectionate homebody who thrives in the company of his people. He originally came to the shelter because the resident senior dog in his previous home simply didnāt get along with him, but Duke lived happily with kids under 10 and was especially devoted to oneāheād curl up for bedtime, play together, and would take cues from the child even more than from the adults. Heās on the young side with plenty of playful energy thatās best directed into regular walks and active family play sessions, especially since he prefers the comforts of home over being outdoors by himself. Shelter staff are still observing how Duke interacts with other dogs in playgroups, so his fit with other canines is being figured out. If youāre considering Duke, youāll need to bring your whole crewāincluding petsāto the shelter for a careful introduction.
