About Zippy
Zippy is a 4-month-old, 14-pound Boston Terrier/Terrier mix, expected to reach around 30 pounds as an adult. She’s currently in foster care in Manhattan, NY and thriving, but her adopter needs to be ready for a real commitment: Zippy will need lots of structure, daily exercise, and dedicated mental stimulation as she grows. Puppies like her change a lot in their first year—her routine and needs will shift, so adaptability from her human is key. An experienced, active adopter with prior dog ownership or care is strongly preferred, and professional training is recommended from day one. She’s working on house training and still learning the ropes on leash and crate manners. Zippy gets along with dogs and most cats, but her puppy play style is mouthy, and she can be rambunctious—children in the home should be at least 8 and up. At her age, separation anxiety is common and will take training and patience. Zippy’s vaccinations are current for her age, she’s microchipped and spayed, and she’ll need her adopter to continue her vaccine schedule if adopted under 4 months old. If you’re ready for the work and fun of raising an energetic puppy and willing to put in the consistency and patience she needs, Zippy might fit right in with your life. Your new best friend is just one click away.
