About Raina
Raina is a small, long-haired Mini Dachshund in Coatesville, PA, who has already overcome a lot in her short life. She arrived at rescue after a spinal injury during breeding left her with limited mobility—but a dedicated foster and careful therapy, including electro-acupuncture and laser treatments, helped her regain her ability to stand and walk. While her rear legs still wobble some, she’s navigates even surfaces confidently and races alongside other small dogs in her foster yard. Steps remain a challenge, so her adopter will need to carry her when stairs are involved, and long walks aren’t in her future. Raised without much human attention, Raina was a quiet, shy girl at first, but living with gentle, playful dogs has helped her come out of her shell. She enjoys her crate, loves rides in the car, and gets excited about her stuffed toys. Raina can be vocal at times, especially in the morning or when alerting about new sounds outside. Her ideal home is calm and patient, with at least one well-socialized small dog (no resource guarders) and an adopter experienced with IVDD. Access to advanced vet care for occasional therapy maintenance would be a plus. Raina is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, and house trained.
