About Veggie

Veggie is all heart and goofy energy—a 55-pound mix of Border Collie and Terrier with plenty of charm packed into a medium-sized frame. He’s young, likely somewhere between a year and two, and wasted no time winning over everyone he meets. Friendly with other dogs and great with kids, Veggie is that rare dog who’ll light up at your return like you’ve been gone a century, then flop at your feet as if nothing happened. He’ll savor every scratch and pet you give, loves his toys (happy to play solo or involve you), and can settle in with a chew or sprint around for a tug-of-war just as fast. On leash, Veggie makes his handler look like a dog-walking pro. He’s crate trained and completely house trained in his foster environment—a true personal space pro. Smart doesn’t quite cover it: Veggie figured out the dog door in less than an hour and learns quickly, especially when snacks are involved. His play style with other dogs skews polite but reserved, warming up gradually to new pals. He’s medium energy: content to zoom in the yard or lounge around and nestle next to you in the evening. Water intrigues him too; he’ll stick a curious paw in the pool to test the waters. Car rides, grooming, baths—he takes it all in stride. This boy is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and has been dewormed and treated for fleas and ticks. Veggie is a soft-hearted, silly companion waiting for a family lucky enough to bring him home. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
