Hiker
AvailableHiker is a young, neutered male Labrador Retriever/Hound mix currently in Dalton, GA. He’s about 2 years and 4 months old and considered medium-sized. His shots are up to date, and while his coat color and length aren’t noted, his friendly energy is unmistakable. Hiker would thrive in an active home that can give him space to explore and time to bond.
About Hiker
Hiker comes from a litter that arrived as pups, and he’s grown up in rescue as his siblings found homes. While Hiker is still waiting for his family, he hasn’t lost his playful spark. Staff and volunteers often call him a "goofball" because he’s always making silly faces and striking funny poses in his kennel. Hiker is especially friendly with female dogs—his strongest friendships have all been with females, and he doesn’t do as well with males. He’s energetic but gentle, happiest when he can run around outside and explore new places, especially the pond area on the property. Hiker loves hugs, pets, and will happily shower his favorite people with affection. He’s best suited to a home with kids over 12 just because of his size, not his temperament. Hiker is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, so he’s ready to start his next chapter. He was born January 23, 2024, which makes him an inventive and independent Aquarius.
