Hank
AvailableHank is a small, neutered male Yorkshire Terrier/mixed breed currently living in Fremont, OH. He is about 4 years and 2 months old and is house trained. Hank has received all his vaccinations and, thanks to his Aries sun sign, is likely to have a spirited side. Regular grooming will be important for his coat type.
About Hank
Hank is an affectionate small Yorkie mix, around 4 years old, who found his way to us as a stray. There is no backstory on his life before rescue, but he quickly charms everyone with his sweet nature. Hank enjoys toys—squeaky and stuffed toys are his favorites—and he's happy chewing on a Nyla bone by your side. He walks politely on leash, knows how to sit, and is housebroken. Hank doesn't mind being picked up, especially since jumping can be a challenge for him. When excited, he shows off an endearing little spin. He handles baths well, but will need regular professional grooming to keep him comfortable. Hank does well with dogs and cats, but tends to feel more at ease around calm, smaller dogs. Larger, high-energy dogs intimidate him. For families, a home with children over 12 is best. He recently had his neuter surgery and dental work. Four of his teeth were already missing, and the vet removed another one. Hank also has some sensitivity in his thoracic spine from an old injury, so gentle handling is important. Interested adopters need to visit the shelter to meet Hank before applying. You can stop by during open hours; the adoption process is not same-day and involves a reviewed application. Questions about Hank
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Yorkshire Terrier mixes like Hank are usually happiest in homes where they can be close to their people—small houses or apartments work well if they get sufficient attention and playtime. Hank would do best somewhere with space to relax and a calm environment.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Hank doesn't need a huge yard; a small, secure outdoor area or regular walks will fit his needs. Yorkshire Terrier mixes are adaptable and get much of their energy out with play and daily strolls.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Yorkshire Terrier mixes can do well with children who are gentle and respectful, especially older kids. Hank is recommended for homes with children over 12, as rough play might make him nervous.
